The BIGGEST baby on the block!

It seems our little family is growing so quickly these past few months! Anneke now weighs 20lbs and is in the 95 percentile for her height and weight. Just yesterday she shared her half birthday with Grandpa P.! At six months she can now sit up, loves her jumpy swing that hangs on the door and loves to lay on her back and grab both her feet. 

Kaleb is growing sooo fast too. He will be graduating from preschool this coming week... Although he still has one more year of preschool to go! Whew!

Being a mom can be very entertaining... Here are some things that have kept us "entertained" over the past couple months:

We took a preschool field trip to Thanksgiving Point...Kaleb had a blast as you can see on his face...

 

My mom helped me make these adorable maxi skirt outfits that can also be worn as a dress. We have the same outfits in Grey and white! Little girl babies are so fun to dress up!

 I love it!

And last but not least... homemade play dough! This "talking ghost" is just a sample of all the fun things Kaleb has been making with it...ha ha;o) 

MARCH 2013 MADNESS!!!

Wow! What a month!

Kaleb had an awesome birthday and a cool soccer cake with Lightning McQueen candles on it! I can't believe my little Kaleb is 4 years old! He is getting to be so big and he is such a good helper around the house cleaning up his toys and watching over his little sister. Kaleb, you light up my life, I love you so much!

This month Anneke also received an official name and blessing at church. Thomas gave the blessing and Grandpa P., Tio Rudy, Sam Albornoz, and Joe Child were in the prayer circle. It was a wonderful blessing and Anneke Isabel Barra seemed very happy to be there. I am so happy our little Anneke is officially blessed in the church and to our family. We love her so much. Her chubby cheeks and bright smile make me melt. 

She wore the same blessing dress that I wore at my baby blessing 25 years ago. My mom made her a cute little bonnet to match, per my request...My Grandma Zoie made the blanket in the background for my blessing as well. She entered the blanket in the Morgan County Fair and got a blue ribbon for it!...It was such a wonderful day, and Anneke looked so cute!

February Fun 2013

I always look forward to February because not only is it my birthday month, it also includes Valentines Day! Kaleb liked celebrating my birthday, but was a little sad that my birthday came before his birthday... He loves giving and especially getting birthday presents.;o) This year when I asked Kaleb what he was going to get me for my birthday, it was no surprise to me what our little Casanova answered... he said, " I want to buy you a ring mama!" I told him he could help make me a ring with beads and he was very excited about that. Here are a few pictures of the events.... My annual Dairy Queen birthday ice cream cake was delicious and did not last very long in the Barra household.;o) 

Our little Anneke has been growing so fast these past three month's. She is such a good little girl! She loves taking baths, eating (She is in the 95% for weight and height!), sleeps through the night, and loves to be dressed up! Here are a few pictures of our little Diva and Casanova.:)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We feel so blessed this year to have our new family member join us, Anneke Isabel. She is such a blessing in our lives and we are so happy to start a new year as a family of four! I felt a need to write on my blog to express how fortunate we have been this year... to have a roof over our heads, and food in our bellies.... Sometimes a little too much food during the holidays.;o)

I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful family, and to have the opportunity to be able to raise my two children at home. It is such a blessing for me to get to know my two little ones. Kaleb has such an energetic spirit about him. He is such a caring and thoughtful little boy. He is so sweet to his little sister, he is always giving her sweet little kisses and jumps at the chance to give her the binky or burp rag when I need them. When other people hold her, he usually tells them to "beee careful". 

Anneke is a sweet little one. Her smile and cuddly nature makes me melt. I could hold her all day. Recently we have noticed that she is very fond of Reggae music, especially by Bob Marley.  Ha ha. She also likes to take showers. We call her a little mermaid because she loves the water so much.  I hope this new year will be as awesome as 2012 has been for us. I am so grateful for my family and all my blessings!

Our little Kaleb (whom we refer to as Keenon) has graduated preschool at a whopping 3 years of age!!! He started a year early so he will graduate again next year, but being the smallest in his class I think he did a great job. We are so glad he has been able to attend preschool this year. It has helped him so much. Before it was hard for him to socialize being an only child but now he is a little socialite! His little sister that will be born in November 2012 will be in for a treat! We are so proud of our little Keenon that we just had to share his graduation picture on the blog. :o)

The Terrific Two's!

Kaleb's 2nd Birthday was a smashing success! He had so much fun and by the end of the day he was telling everyone "Happy Birthday"... I guess because he heard it so much throughout the day. We love our little Kaleb and how much joy and happiness he brings into our lives. His love for anything shaped like a ball helps us to stay active and alert for these ball shaped objects flying through the air during the day. Here is a picture and video of our little "do do". Who knows... he might be the next Tiger Woods! ;o)... Until next time!

Hi Everyone!

We've almost survived another year! I can't believe how fast the time has gone by. With only a semester left to finish my bachelor's degree I am very excited. Kaleb, I believe can't wait either so that he will be able to receive more attention from me, although I think he will miss bugging me soooo much while I am on the computer because one of his favorite games is to try and push the power button while I am working. As he tries to press the button he giggles very loudly.

This year Thomas has been able to move up to a financial manager position at his work. He is working very hard, but we are very grateful for his employment this year because it was not easy to find him a job and we also feel lucky that he has been able to get a job in the field of his choice.

I've also been lucky to find a job at Fantastic Sam's Salon working a few Saturdays each month. It is so fun for me to get out of the house a little and do what I love.

Kaleb is growing so much I just can't believe it. He seems as though he is a little man now. His main concerns in life consist of balls, Elmo, and treats. Everything else is just in the scenery for
him. We love our little soccer player. He is not yet two and he can drop-kick the ball, use footwork, and make goals at the end of the hall. One of his first words this year was during the soccer world cup and he would say, "gooooaaaalllllll" as he kicked the ball to the end of the hall.

We hope everyone has had a good year as we feel we have had and if not, it's almost a new year right!? ... and I can't wait for 11:00 church. ;o)
